The Boy In The Stripped Pyjama's

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is a fictional tale of the unlikeliest of friends: the son of a Nazi commandant and a Jewish concentration camp inmate. The novel, set in Nazi Germany, begins when nine-year-old Bruno and his family must move from their lovely home in Berlin to a new house in an unfamiliar place called "Out-With." Tempted to explore his new environment, Bruno is told that there are certain places that are "Out Of Bounds At All Times and No Exceptions." Unable to fight his adventuresome spirit, however, Bruno ventures forth into the unknown one afternoon. Bruno comes upon a fence that he follows until he sees a young boy sitting on the other side of the fence. It’s a forbidden friendship that between an eight-year-old German boy and a Jewish concentration camp prisoner in World War II-era Germany.
The shoeless boy is wearing striped pajamas and a cloth cap. Bruno also notices that the boy is wearing an armband with a star on it. Bruno makes fast friends with the boy, Shmuel, and they quickly discover that they share the same birthday. The boys discuss their families and where they are from. At the end of their first meeting, Bruno asks Shmuel why there are so many people on his side of the fence and what they are doing there. A few days later, Bruno's father has dinner guests; the man's name is "the Fury" and his date is called Eva. Bruno instantly dislikes the couple. Bruno's sister Gretel, whom he refers to as "the Hopeless Case," is smitten by the man and tries hard to impress him and his lady friend.
The innocent son of a high-ranking Nazi commandant, Bruno has been largely shielded from the harsh realities of the war. When Bruno discovers that his father has been promoted and that their family will be moving from Berlin into the countryside, he doesn't take the news well. Increasingly bored in his sprawling yet dreary country abode and forbidden by his mother from exploring the backyard, young Bruno searches for something to do while his older sister plays with dolls and vies for the attention of handsome Lieutenant Kotler (Rupert Friend). One day, bored and gazing out his bedroom window, Bruno spies what first appears to be a nearby farm; Bruno, however, is disgusted by his sister's behavior and her budding romance with a young soldier. Much like Bruno hears "Auschwitz" as "Out-With," he also incorrectly hears "the Führer" as "the Fury." Boyner masterfully tells the story from Bruno's perspective; it is clear that the innocence of Bruno's childhood remains intact despite the fact that he is living on the periphery of a death camp and has met Adolf Hitler.
Bruno continues to explore the woods near his house and often finds himself at the fence spending time with Shmuel. Bruno brings him food, and the friends lament the fact that they cannot explore together or play a game of football. Shmuel confides in Bruno that he is unable to find his father and he is worried. Bruno vows to help Shmuel look for his father; to that end, Shmuel promises to get Bruno some pajamas so that he will blend in on his side of the fence. One fateful day, Bruno sheds his clothes, dons the pajamas, and sneaks onto Shmuel's side of the fence. As the boys search for Shmuel's father, the soldiers herd the prisoners, Bruno among them, into the gas chambers where they meet their untimely death hand in hand. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas explores the beauty of a child's innocence in a time of war, the common desire we all have for friendship, and the fences—both literal and figurative—that we must all navigate and choose whether or not to break down.
Eventually defying his mother's rules and venturing out beyond the backyard, Bruno arrives at a barbed wire fence to find a young boy just his age emptying rubble from a wheel barrel. Like Pavel, the kitchen worker who cooks all of Bruno's meals, the young boy is wearing striped. But the closer these two boys grow, the more Bruno becomes awakened to the horrors unfolding all around them. His mother is catching on quickly as well, a fact that causes great tension in her marriage to Bruno's father. Later, after Bruno swipes a piece of cake for Shmuel, Lt. Kotler accuses the Jewish boy of stealing and delivers a swift punishment. When Bruno's father announces that the young boy and his mother will be going to live with their aunt in Heidelberg, Bruno grabs a shovel and makes his way to the camp. When Bruno hears this he decides to go and try out how the little boy feels.
He tells him to try to get him extra clothes so he can go and be with him and in exchange he would give him food. The boy wasn’t sure if he should do it or not, then Bruno comes back later with food and they start digging so Bruno can go in and be with his friend. He wasn’t sure if it was going to work because Bruno had hair. Once they dogged a whole that was deep enough for Bruno to pass over he goes in. Bruno starts putting on the clothes and it was time for them to go back. Once they went back Bruno and the other boy got chosen to go to the steam rooms were they were going to die. They were not sure were they were going to go but they were getting scared. Once they saw people trying to leave they new they were going to die. Bruno was being called to go back to his house they see that he does not appear. They start looking for Bruno and Bruno dad sends the soldiers to look for his son.
They find a shovel and Bruno clothes. They go inside to try to find Bruno. They tell Bruno and everyone in their to take there clothes off people start looking at Bruno because he is the only one that has hair. Many people stare at him. This one old guy kept staring at him for a while. Shumel gives a hug to Bruno because he knew this was the end for them. Bruno doesn’t understand why he hugs him. Then they turn it on and little by little you see people fall. Bruno dad runs over to the concentration camp and starts going in looking for Bruno and screaming his name. Bruno dad gets to the steam places and orders them to open it but when they got there it was to late already. The sky turned dark and it started to rain a lot.  Bruno’s mom suffers a lot in his lose of his young child. Bruno’s dad gets mad at himself for lying to his child and they both start to cry.

And the story continues.....

There was another boy in the concentration camp that looked similar to Bruno. Bruno father found him and thought that boy looked similar to Bruno. He went up to the young boy and asked him if he was Bruno. The young boy said no. Bruno dad wanted to take him home with him but he wasn’t sure in taking him because he was a German. Bruno dad did not like seeing his mom suffer and he wanted to take this boy name Henry to his house and make him believe that it was Bruno. He wanted to do that so that Bruno’s mom can cheer up. Bruno’s dad asked Henry if he wanted to go live with him and pretend to be his son Bruno. Henry wanted to because he thought he was going to have a better life and he will live longer then if he stayed at the consecration camp. Henry tolled Bruno’s dad yes I will go with you because he wanted a better future in his life. When Bruno mom finds out that "Bruno" is not dead she sends everyone to go get his favorite food and decides to throw him a party. Bruno's dad tells Henry what he needs to do and how he need to act and also know the people that are there. Henry tried his best to remember everything that Bruno's dad was saying. Henry just wished he could have brought en his mom with him because he didn't want nothing to happen to his mother. Henry was a young well educated boy who cared about people and liked listing to them when they had a problem. he likes to care about other and likes hearing them out. Henry is not like many young boys he is different from them because he cares in not hurting girls feelings and likes treating them well. When Henry got to his new home he felt different because he never been in a big house like that before he meet his new mother and sister. Henry didn't like his new sister that much. He tolled Bruno's dad that his new mom seems very nice and should be treated the right way also that it seems that she was suffering a lot for her lose of her child. Henry wanted to tell his new mom the truth at that moment because he didn't want to see her suffer if she finds out later on in the future but Bruno's dad said no because that might end up killing her and that it will end up being his fault.Henry decided to maintain silence until he finds the right time to tell his new mom what really happened. He decided to help out a lot because he didn't want to see her suffering a lot. for him it is an honor to live there and he wants to help out his mom realizes that he ain't acting like Bruno and asks him if anything is wrong. Well of course Henry said no even though he wanted to say yes. Then Henry went running to his room and asked himself why am i acting this way. He didn't know what to do so his mom wouldn't think nothing is wrong so he decides to go outside and play. As the time went passing on and after a few year. Bruno(Henry) was turing 15 he wanted to tell his mom the truth because he wanted to move out because he couldn't stand lying anymore. Bruno's dad got so mad that he wanted to kill Henry and in stead of him killing Henry he accidentally killed himself because he got on the car before Henry did. After this Henry decided to wait a little bit longer because his mom was suffering a lot. Also he didn't want to see her suffer anymore so he decided to wait. But he wanted talk with someone for advice so he goes to his neighbor and starts talking with. His neighbor suggested Henry to wait until his mom got better before she ended up dieing. As the time went passing by it was time for him to face the truth. it was a hard day for him to confront and then he waited till the afternoon. when he tolled his new mom his mom did understood and she just asked Henry if she can continue seeing him and to not move out cause she really loves him. Henry respected her decision and said yes.

Dear.....

Dear Ms. Vallejo,
You should read the book the boy in the striped pajamas. It is a very interesting book to read. If you are one of those people that would like to know what happened to the Jewish in the past. They suffered a lot and this book will help you explain how they suffered. They separated their families and they killed people that weren’t going to be help them or that weren’t strong to do work. The story talk about a boy named Bruno that moves somewhere else with his father. It’s a very sad book that may also make you cry a little bit. This book seems very realistic because this might have happened to someone and it may be based on a true life story. This book tells you that some people want to see what the Germans/Jewish were suffering during this time period. It is similar to what is happening now in days with Hispanics getting deported back to there hometown when all they want is to have a better life and try to be someone in life.  It sucks seeing other people suffer and for something that is not fair because everyone should have the right to be who they are. This book has a lot of examples that you should do in life. Such as like you should help out someone when they are really in need and have not eaten in a long time. This book made me realize that I should help out someone when there I need. Also when someone is hungry I should try to give them something. Even though I am not rich I can at least try to help out. Helping people that are need is good cause because you never know that you might end up like them in the future and when you need help you might not get any and you would like for someone to help you. You should read this book so you can realize what good of a book this is and also for you to recommend it to your friends or family members. Out of this book they have made a movie that is very interesting. If i were you i would totally read this book. This is one of the a few books I enjoyed reading and actually wanted to continue reading it. If you want to know what some people went threw during that time period you should read this book. Many people have read this book and think the same that I do that it is very good .Ms. Vallejo I totally recommend you to read this book as soon as possible.
